Dog Lovers Guru

See the dog-human bond from a different perspective

Love. The most powerful thing in the Universe. I learned this, and so much more, from my dog Gunny.

Ever wondered what your  dog  is really thinking or feeling?

What's the biggest lesson you've learned since having a paw some fur baby?

Hi, my name is Patricia.

I'm passionate about Animals, especially dogs and horses. I always owned dogs since I was a child, and I have eight dogs at the moment and a horse called Bobby. I run a dog boarding business inn Co. Meath, Ireland.

So I get to meet all sorts of breeds  large, medium and small dogs.

My own dogs are Ceaser, Cleo,Whoppi, Jack, Blackie , and Missy  Belle, and Suki, whom have all their own personalities. Whoopi is the mother of Jack, Blackie, and Missy, their Dad Frank died in August aged 16, so a very sad day for me.i still Miss him terribly.

They're all Jack Russell's ,So if you're as passionate about dogs as I am, I'd love you to share your dog's name and anything you might need advice on, I've over 45 years experience with dogs, so I know the anxious dog parent leaving their dog in daycare for the first time, and the really nervous dog that has never been sociable with other dogs exactly what they're going through. Or the worried family leaving their dog for 2 weeks when they go on their annual holiday.

And seeing the transformation in those 2 weeks as their precious  fur babies have settled in and loved running around the fields and playing with the other dogs.

The delight their owners get seeing the photos when they're away.

So that's what keeps me doing this day in day out in all weathers to see their owners happy, and keeping those tails wagging.

As our dogs age, they often lose their hearing or vision, struggle with movement, and can develop cognitive impairments (doggy dementia). It is sometimes a tough adjustment to the “new normal.” Chat with fellow dog lovers about different things to try to improve quality of life and have peace of mind.

Keith Macpherson talks with Laurie, who “speaks movingly about the depth of her bond with her dog, her grief over his passing and her belief that death is not the end but just part of the cycle of reincarnation. She still feels connected to Gunny and hopes that her story will inspire and comfort other pet owners.”
